Azahar Ensemble

With its exciting programmes and fiery interpretations, this Spanish wind quintet whisks us on a journey through the European chamber music scene. The ensemble also ventures into new musical paths collaborating with the Catalan guitarist, Rafael Aguirre.

After concerts at Berlin Philharmonie, in Cologne, at Vienna Musikverein, Salzburg Mozarteum, as well as in Baden-Baden, Philharmonie Essen and at the Rheingau Festival, the Mozartfest Wurzburg and at Honens Piano Competition in Canada, the Azahar Ensemble, prize holder of the renowned ARD Competition, continues to perform throughout Europe. In the end of 2020 they will premiere a new work by Gija Kancheli. The ensemble’s debut CD, a recording of works by Joaquín Turina, has been praised by the international press.
