New Releases
The title of the album is based on the small composition “Vers la flamme” by Scriabin. This work is juxtaposed with an arrangement of Richard Strauss’ orchestral work “Death and Transfiguration”, Messiaen’s “Régard de l’Eglise d’amour” and an improvised transition to Beethoven’s Sonata op. 111.

Watch and Listen

This CD was recorded during the Paris lockdown in a church on an old Steinway. The pianist contrasts Schumann’s energetic “Kreisleriana” with what he considers Jensen’s best piano cycle, the “Eroticon”.

Reviews
Severin von Eckardstein – one of the finest and boldest pianists Germany currently has to offer – is almost a regular guest in Husum. His artistry is evident in how casually he introduces the ‘Impressions’ op. 11b by Finnish composer Ilmari Hannikainen, as if he were recounting memories in a circle of friends.
