Cédric Pescia

Cédric Pescia, master of soft tones, amazes with his clear and inspired touch, his joy of playing, and his musical charisma. For him, music is always language and movement at the same time: what he plays must speak and sing, as well as flow and dance.

Lausanne born Cédric Pescia, winner of the famous “Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition”, is one of today’s most exciting pianists thanks to his refined sense of sound for music from Baroque to Contemporary and his particularly elaborated programmes.

After concerts in New York, London, Brussels, Leipzig, Hamburg and Geneva, Cédric Pescia will perform again in various metropols, amongst others in Berlin, Paris, London and Vienna.

After both volumes of the Well-Tempered Clavier by J.S. Bach, Cédric Pescia together with Philippe Cassard released a recording of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in the version for two pianos by Franz Liszt .

Bach – French Suites (La dolce volta)

Cédric Pescia has developed a deeply personal approach to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Under his fingers, it is never austere but instead reveals the composer’s humanity. And with the French Suites, the pianist takes us to the very depths of Bach’s soul.

Pescia is a thinking man’s pianist. His rock-solid technique is wedded to an intellectual approach that often yields unconventional, fascinating perspectives on familiar repertoire. Miami Herald | Miami International Piano Festival

Cédric Pescia’s release on Æon is a worthy addition to the growing list of first-rate recordings, and the care and subtlety he brings to his performance contribute to the music’s piquant charm and haunting ambience. Because much of this work is quite soft and sparse, and intended to be played with the lightest touch, listeners should pay close attention to follow Pescia’s controlled and extremely refined interpretation. www.allmusic.com | Cage CD
