Isabelle van Keulen’s unmistakable charisma and impassioned advocacy of 20th and 21st century music for violin and viola – a part from the standard repertoire – has taken her to renowned orchestras worldwide – as a soloist as well as also play and direct.

Her love for chamber music led to the founding of the Wigmore Soloists and her own ensemble, which has dedicated itself to works by Astor Piazzolla, among others.

1. A piece that means a lot to you, but is far too little known: The Violin Concerto by the Swede Allan Pettersson. There are 17 symphonies by him that are still played from time to time, but the one-hour-long violin concerto is a rarity: a great battle between violin and orchestra, incredibly melancholic and not exactly optimistic, but this piece speaks (musically) from my soul!
