Brentano String Quartet
The Brentano String Quartet is defined by its grand American sound and an incredible delicacy in the search for the smallest musical details. The New Yorkers offer extraordinary programmes which are a unique selling point in the European chamber music scene.
The quartet, whose name refers to Beethoven’s supposed “immortal beloved,” captivates with brilliantly coordinated ensemble playing, technical perfection and outstanding vitality.
Listen to the quartet soon in London, Luxembourg and the Amsterdam Quartet Biennale.

Reviews
The American Brentano Quartet, a string quartet formation in a class of its own, made a guest appearance at the Haus der Musik. First of all, the perfection of their playing is unrivalled. All lines in the movement structure are meticulously worked out, the four musicians act with a completely unpretentious, sympa-thetically allure-free musical sovereignty. The trademark, the speciality of the ensemble sound is its delicacy: even fiery tutti passages sound perfectly transparent, never brutal.
