Mendelssohn Kammerorchester Leipzig | Peter Bruns

“Three generations of Mozart”, “Baroque Family – Baroque Styles” and “Relations – Acquaintances” are the names of the new programs of the “extremely sensitive and responsive orchestra” (Kölnische Rundschau 1 | 19). Soloists for the coming seasons are Reinhold Friedrich (Bach, Vivaldi), Daniel Ottensamer (Copland, Weber, Penderecki, Mozart), Dorothee Oberlinger (Bach, Telemann, Handel) and Peter Bruns (Haydn).

The chamber orchestra performs in a small instrumentation and standing up. They play historically informed interpretations on modern instruments: phrasing, vibrato and articulation come into their own. The ensemble is led from the cello by Peter Bruns. This creates a unique, chamber music-like orchestral sound that has won over audiences and press across the world.

For example with Lauma Skride in the Musikverein Wien, with Ragna Schirmer in the Prinzregententheater in Munich or with Reinhold Friedrich in the Cologne Philharmonic.
